Women’s College Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of a special series with the Globe and Mail to showcase the work and impact of Women’s College Hospital (WCH).

From October 23 to November 9, the Globe and Mail will feature select WCH research and clinical programs in both print and digital format. Print articles will appear each Monday in the Life section and all articles will appear online.

The series kicks off today with a special look inside the new Peter Gilgan Centre for Women’s Cancers at WCH in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), which was launched this past year with a joint gift of $12 million from the Peter Gilgan Foundation and CCS. The online series features The Screen Project, the first study to make BRCA testing accessible to all Canadians, as well as hear from patient Kirby Silverberg, who credits Dr. Kelly Metcalfe, an adjunct scientist at Women’s College Research Institute conducting research on the prevention and treatment of hereditary breast cancer, with helping her make the decision that saved her life.
