In 2013, Women’s College Hospital launched the WCH Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV), a centre for health system innovation with a mission to heal healthcare.

With the health system facing increasing pressures and challenges as the population ages and rates of chronic conditions rise, WIHV was created to find new models of care that transform the way patients experience their care, create better health outcomes and lower the cost of care to the system as a whole.

WIHV works with other healthcare providers and institutions, patients and leaders in government, business, engineering and computer science to make healthcare more convenient, more effective and more affordable. The institute’s experts and scientists provide consultation, evaluation and research services for a wide array of projects and organizations, all with a goal to advance innovation across the healthcare system.
